- Be comfortable - loose clothing is recommended for the course. Shoes, either flat or with a small heel, with a smoother sole than typical running shoes are best, as they will allow for smoother transition of steps.
- Stay hydrated - dancing works up a great sweat. Bring and drink plenty of water and maybe a small towel to class. Drinking plenty of water before class can also help.

- Pace yourself - Classes can be high energy but remember you can and should go at your own pace.
- Inform your instructor of any illness or injury that may prevent you from participating fully in the class.
